If you know anyone who has spent any amount of time in theatre performance, they’re likely one of the most well-rounded people you’ve ever met. There has been some discourse ringing through the modern job market about theatre kids and how they make the best employees, especially for start ups. And while some may be a little eccentric in their style or personality, the skills they bring to the table in the workplace can be called supernatural. Instead of asking “what can this theatre kid bring to my business and bottom line?” you should be asking “what CAN’T this theatre kid do?” because that answer would be shorter and easier to digest.

Let’s say you have a big idea for your next business move or personal life. You know what the end goal is, but the path to getting there feels muddy and messy. If you’re not comfortable with being uncomfortable, you’ll need to be in you’re going to bring your vision to life - growth is often uncomfortable because it’s new and unfamiliar by nature. In order to tread the mud, you’ve got to lace up your boots, and before you lace up your boots, you got to put your socks on. These small steps might seem insignificant, but they prepare you for the journey ahead and move you closer to the end, and help build energetic momentum in the direction you desire to go.

Teachers and entrepreneurs have a TON in common with one another. From their needs to the skills sets required to succeed, the list is long. The commonalities I talk about are only the tip of the iceberg.

Most of us start a business because we have big dreams and builder energy to see it through. But everything has a tipping point, and maybe you’re approaching business burnout. If you’re there, any thought related to your business may be triggering a sense of existential dread, and maybe you’re thinking about burning it all down to the ground, changing your name, and starting a new life in a country far away. This escape plan would be a solid solution, but you can avoid the pain of letting go of your life’s work by moving toward a better work-life balance.

Every successful business owner understands that time = money, and by that logic, more time = more money, right?

Unfortunately, time is a limited resource. There are only so many hours in the day, and days in the week. But what if we could bend time? With the right systems in place, we can create a sense of having more time by using the time we do have more effectively. When we maximize our limited time, our business will benefit from the bigger bottom line that will ultimately manifest.
